"What.does.death.mean.to.you?"said the professor word by word as he scribbled the words on the whiteboard.
"To be handed by next week,no exception of delay passing up of essays for those who hands it after the dateline" The professor spun back to face the class.
"Another thousand word essay?" moaned Kate, who was sitting next to Fazlin.
"Not this time Kate. I am going to let you have this freedom in this essay. It’s all about the quality of this essay so I’m not going to give bonus marks for those who’s going to give me a 2000 word essay and that includes you Timothy;your previous essay caused me sleepless nights and that’s not good for my wife if you know what I mean."The professor joked as the whole class laughed.
Soon class was dismissed, leaving the two friends with nothing to do but hang out.
"So where do you wanna go Faz?"Kate asked, tossing her sling bag over her shoulder as the walk towards main gate.
"Ain’t got a clue, feels pretty bored in London once you get used to it."Fazlin replied, staring out at the skies; It was going to rain.
"Quite true, but its not so lonely once you have friends,"Kated smiled at her.
"Yeah, friends that dumped toothpaste inside someone’s shoes when she’s sleeping," replied Fazlin as she eyed her dear friend.
"Haha that’s was a special occasion."
"Ya,dumping toothpaste inside my shoes on my birthday is an alternative way to say ‘Happy birthday!’"Fazlin rolled her eyes as they now walked towards the bus station.
"Hey come to think of it I never heard about your family in this 2 months since we had met each other."Kate exclaimed, fishing out a chewing gum out of her pocket.
"Yeah that’s true.Well my family and I came here when I was 6, from Israel. Soon after that my mom died, leaving my dad to take care of my big brother and me." Fazlin tooked a deep fresh breath of air and then continued. "I’m close to my brother actually. He was the one who took care of me when dad was working long hours. He was the one who stuck out to me when kids bullied me because of my colour.I wonder what would I do without him."Fazlin finished as they finally reach the bus station.
"Anyway enough of me. How’s your fiancĂ© Mike?" smiled Fazlin.
"We are so madly in love Faz,it feels like time was stopped when we are together. I can’t wait to get married and you will be my best mate."
"How sweet," Fazlin replied as they stood waiting at the bus station with no clue on where they are going. "Where will it be held?"Fazlin asked.
"Oh,its at a church south of here. The scenery looks awesome there and it’s perfect," Kate replied, clearly on cloud nine.
"Oh right! There’s a sale going on, half price on bikinis. Let’s go there." Kate told Fazlin, flagging the bus that was approaching.
"Where to?" Fazlin asked.
"Damrow Cross"

The station was as cold as ever, leaving a frosty chill on the windows caused by the air conditioner. Inside the Rockport police station office, two policemen are preoccupied with their deskwork, unaware that it was going to be their last duty as law enforcers.
"Hey Mike,we have rounds to do later on,how about some coffee before we head there?"Denver asked, browsing through he papers the chief deputy had gave him. They were both alone,as the rest are off do their own rounds around the neighbourhood.
"I take as you are still sitting down means you are asking me to pour you one?"Mike pursed him lips as he said that.
"Well since you put it that way, thanks,"Denver smiled at his colleague.
After getting the coffee,Mike asked: "So where are we going?"
"You know the cluster of neighborhoods around the park nearby? We are heading there. One thing though, everytime since this morning when I think about the rounds we are heading later my right eye always twitches. I have a bad feeling about this."
"You always have a bad feeling about everything Dever, even on your wedding."
"Well she did leave me for the another guy later on man,"Denver said, still hurting from that even though it years ago.
"That’s because you were paranoid about losing her,my friend, sometimes you gotta let people run it’s own course,"Mike said.
"Well let’s hope I’m wrong this time,"Denver muttered.
